Shangri-la Projects has been cranking out amazing Memphis
(and other!) music since 1989. Since then, we have released over
40 records, cds, books, and documentary films as well the only travel
guide to Memphis you’ll ever need, Kreature Comforts Lowlife Guide
to Memphis.
All Shangri-la Projects releases must meet rigid industry
standards in the studio before ever hitting the ears of you, the general
public. We do not have a schedule or a quota to release so many units
a year. We are not encumbered to deliver a certain amount to our distributors
each quarter. We have no affiliation with a major label that demands a
certain number of hits a month. We have the luxury of sitting back and
waiting until a release so splendid and divine hits our ears that we end
up doing cartwheels on the front porch and into the yard, nearly crushing
the barn animals at our feet. And you, dear listener, are the beneficiary
of said patience.
