Will Roy Sanders: The Last Living Bluesman VHS
$15
This 45 minute film tells the story of Will Roy Sanders and the fabulous Fieldstones, Memphis’ longest running blues band. Sanders’ story echoes that of many Mississippi cotton farmers who moved to the city as farms became mechanized. Sanders had a wild, almost 50-year career as a bluesmen in the Binghampton Blues Boys (“Crosscut Saw”) as well as 40 years as a singer, guitar player, and all around entertainer with Memphis’ tuffest blues band the Fieldstone.
Highly entertaining and educational story of one of the last of a lost art. Mr. Will Roy Sanders passed away in January, 2010.
The Grifters VHS
$10
The Grifters were so big time that we made two MTV-style videos for the songs “Banjo,” a nice black & white pixel vision treat edited by Scott Blen (Pavement) and “Whatever Happened to Felix Cole?” shot at the old Barristers by Kevin Keough. We think they got played on MTV Australia when the Grifters toured down under with Jeff Buckley. Maybe not, but we wish they’d send back the 2” reel we sent them. As seen on youtubes.
Strapping Fieldhands VHS
$10
This video contains some hilarious interview and great live footage of the Strapping Fieldhands at the Antenna Club in Memphis circa 1995. Interview conducted by Shelby Bryant of the Clears and “Hippie” Dave Dunlap with a special guest cameo by other music industry figures.
